Intrakota was formed in 1996 to replace Mini Buses (Bas Mini) which were dangerous and non air-conditioned. They were often crowded. Intrakota had replaced services from Tung Fong and S.J.(Subang Jaya) Kendraan (Transport). Intrakota aims to make all the services air-conditioned stagebus system with maximum fare of RM2 for in town service (up from RM0.60 for Bas Mini) and one man operation system. Their buses were larger and more comfortable than Bas Mini. But the services were disappointing to passengers. The buses sped through the streets and the drivers drove the bus roughly. Costs of maintainence was high for European buses and some that have problems were left in the depot. The fare increase was high but the freuquency is low. The buses now are in a poor condition. From newspapers, it was estimated that Intrakota will always make a loss.
