The Optare Cityrider was purchased 250 from 1994-1995, to replaced the Bas Mini services. It also served Star LRT's feeder services, but it was discontinued and Star purchased some non-AC ex-Bas Mini Mercedes 709s but with the same fare (RM0.50). Very bad indeed.
These buses usually serve low passenger routes and many spent years in the depot.
But the buses are now in a terrible condition because the company suffered a huge loss and damage from reckless drivers. Breakdowns are common, destination display cannot be switch on........
So Intrakota had a decision, to remove those that cannot work.........
